The 2020/2021 season of Super TC2000 comes to an end with two consecutive weekends of competitions, which will be held at the autodromo de in Buenos Aires and February 7 and 14. “It is true that we are closing a strange year… At the beginning it was difficult for us to settle down and the rivals shortened the difference that we were able to obtain in the last championship we won. We worked hard, with few possibilities to develop and test and today, facing race 11, although we made a quality leap in the development of the Renault Fluence GT, I feel that we still need one more step to keep up with our rivals ", analyzed Marcelo ambrogio, head of the Rombo team.
“The 2020 championship started with a totally new technical regulation and we started all the brands practically from scratch. In these conditions development takes time and today we are far from a ceiling, there is much to know and explore, to test and improve. Evolution is race after race ”, added the team-manager.
“If I look at the work of the year, I think we must improve, especially at the finals, to materialize the good performances in the qualifications and the Sprints. In both Río Cuarto and Paraná we were strong on Saturdays, we were able to win in Córdoba and we were to repeat in Entre Ríos when a rubber band left us with nothing shortly after the end. In recent years we have become used to seeing Renault always at the top and today we are working to maintain that level ”, He explained.
The team's technical manager is clear that the next championship will not be normal either, since it will start in March, that is, without much time to do tests; “That complicates a bit what the usual end-of-championship jobs are. We are used to completely disassembling all cars, 100%, down to the last screw ... and, this time, it will be impossible. We will do a comprehensive and intensive service, but almost as a continuity of the work we have been doing ".
The new contest will bring some changes, such as the use of the push to pass, a device that provides some 30 extra horses for a short period of time. “Some changes are being studied, analyzing new solutions. All teams are in contact with the category and working towards what is to come…. If we analyze 2020, the outlook is positive: we were able to complete an interesting tournament in a very difficult year, where we had to cope with a pandemic that has not yet concluded. There have been very good races so, in my opinion, there are no big changes to be made. Yes of course work to keep moving forward and improve the show ", finished Ambrogio.
