The Dutch Rudy van Buren, 25, won a virtual tournament organized by the team McLaren Formula 1 and as a prize he will be responsible for the development of the sophisticated simulator that the English squad has at its headquarters in Woking.
Van Buren was the best among the twelve applicants who agreed to the final of the so-called World's Fastest Gamer which took place in the imposing McLaren Technology Center.
Among the finalists of the contest, in which 30.000 gamers from all over the world participated, was Huis Bonus, another 23-year-old Dutchman who at the beginning of 2017 won 200 thousand dollars in a similar event, but reserved for the virtual series of the Formula E.
“It has been the most incredible experience I have ever had and words cannot describe how I feel. Just getting here, meeting the team and competing with amazing people was an unforgettable experience. It really was the toughest job interview I have ever done, but with an incredible payoff. "Van Buren summarized.
