The Toyota GAZOO Racing GT Cup 2021 is coming

This virtual competition will allow the use of various Toyota vehicles, both the GR street versions and other competition cars.


Toyota GAZOO Racing announced the details of the Toyota GAZOO Racing GT Cup (TGR GT Cup) 2021, a new virtual competition in Gran Turismo Sport for PlayStation4.

The TGR GT Cup is a new global competition in which the entire GR line up, including GR road cars and race cars, will participate in different races throughout a season. Besides of GR Supra and GR Yaris, the recently launched GR It is scheduled to participate in this virtual competition in the middle of the year.

GR Supra GT CupBy changing the car models in each race, players will be able to enjoy different circuits with a variety of vehicles, something that is difficult to do in real car competitions.

Partly due to the effects of COVID-19, 2020 was a year in which people paid more attention than ever to the e-Motorsports, as evidenced by the celebration of the 24 Virtual Hours of Le Mans last year.

Many players from all over the world also participated in the GR Supra GT Cup and the time trial GR Yaris Time Trial, organized by Toyota GAZOO Racing. Also, after appearing on Gran Turismo Sport, approximately 1.30 million GR Supra and 530.000 GR Yaris vehicles were purchased on the virtual platform, which indicates that many gamers around the world were able to enjoy the GR models on their consoles.

TGR plans to continue its active commitment to e-Motorsports so that motorsports and sports cars become increasingly familiar to people around the world and enjoyed by new generations.
