Sébastien Loeb returns to Dakar with the Bahrain Raid Xtreme

The Frenchman will be confirmed as a pilot for David Richards' project in the next few days.

In the absence of an official announcement, it is a fact that the French Sébastien Loeb will return to the rally Dakar Rally from the hand of Bahrain Raid Xtreme that will debut in the mythical race in the 2021 edition to be held in Saudi Arabia from January 3 to 15.

The BRX, run by David Richards, announced a few weeks ago the incorporation of Spanish Nani Rome, who won this test twice (2004 in motorcycles and 2014 in cars). With the arrival of Loeb, the army of the team representing the Kingdom of Bahrain it would be complete.

Sébastien Loeb 2017The work of prototype T1 to be used continues as planned. Rome is already testing it in Britain; while from the incorporation of the second driver the team would move to Middle East to accumulate kilometers on a terrain more similar to the one he will face in his debut.

Loeb participated in four editions of the Dakar and did not achieve his goal: to win. In the first three years he participated with the Peugeot official team. In this stage he finished 9th in 2016, 2nd in 2017 and left in 2018. In 2019, meanwhile, raced with a Peugeot 3008 DKR assisted by PH Sport and finished third.

The possibility of joining the Richards project would allow the Frenchman to run at the highest level since his participation in the WRC, where he won nine crown, would have ended after completing his 2020 racing program with Hyundai.
