The series SoulFuel de BMW Motorrad in which a group of select customizers get their hands on the BMW R 18 has a new member: Spirit of Passion, created by Kingston Custom.

“The BMW R 18 is so perfect that I left the technology as it is. The chassis is 100% original and so sophisticated that nothing should be changed ”, said Dirk oehlerking from Kingston Custom.

Spirit of Passion BMW R 18This version of the R 18 stands out for its kingston fairing, which has a handcrafted finish, like the handlebar and the fender.

The exhaust on the BMW R 18 has been modified by Oehlerking in the Kingston Roadster style, while the saddle is taken from the range of universal accessories. The indicators have been replaced by Kellermann indicators y the LED headlight is now integrated into the fairing.

They have adopted the paint and original lines for the fairing and spoiler, with the addition of some Kingston-style details. The suspension of the wheels and the fuel tank are original. The design as a whole is based on the classic art deco style.

Spirit of Passion BMW R 18Thanks to its extremely convertible architecture, the BMW R 18 is predestined for customization. The R 18 has a strong historical reference, which technically and visually echoes famous models like the BMW R 5 and focuses on the essentials of motorcycles: purist and no-frills technology and, of course, the engine, the big boxer. ...

Born in Hannover, Oehlerking already has its own tradition of customizing BMW machines. About 17 own creations of the brand are yours, including the Black phantom and its sister bike, the White Phantom. The two models defined completely new standards in the industry at the time.

Spirit of Passion BMW R 18However, the redesign of the R 18 was a new challenge for Oehlerking: “This project is probably the most impressive of my entire career. It means a lot to me, if not everything right now. The trust that BMW Motorrad has placed in me once again is extremely important to me. I am very grateful for it".

Other customizers who already got their hands on the R18 were Bernhard Naumann, also known as Blechmann, and Roland sands.
