El Porsche 917k It does not need much presentation since it is one of the most representative vehicles in motor sport. A little for its beautiful design and a little for its successes in the 24 Hours of Le Mans de 1970 y 1971. Precisely, one of the specimens that ran in the mythical competition and that also participated in the film Le Mans starring and directed by Steve McQueen will be auctioned by RM Sotheby's next August.
The vehicle in question is the chassis 026, one of the three who ran in the '70 edition of the mythical test within the team JW Automotive Engineering / Gulf Racing. This particular car had a different decoration than the other two since instead of the central orange stripe characteristic of the design of the oil company it had the roof painted in that color.
