The Super TC2000 with a downcast park for the start of its 2021 tournament

Only 17 cars will be in the game on the first date of the championship, which will take place this weekend in Buenos Aires.

They say that quantity is not always quality. However, that a category like Super TC2000 gather less than 20 cars for the start of his championship it is, at least, striking.

The decision of the Midas Racing Team abandoning the category decimated the specialty park, although their Corollas will appear at any time under the structure of the Pfening Competition.

Other teams that ran in the last tournament and fell by the wayside were Fiat, who was in charge of DTA; Monti Motorsport (Luciano Monti, its founder, joined the list of Honda technicians), Fineschi Racing, which will be presented at TC2000; Y TS Racing.

Matias Rossi

While that happens and it is expected that some of the vehicles that were in disuse will pass into the hands of other teams, the Super will count at the start of the 2021 tournament, which will take place this weekend at the Buenos Aires racetrack, with only five teams, four officers and one private.

The brands that still maintain their commitment to the division are Toyota, last champion with Matias Rossi; Renault, which he held between 2017 and 2019; Chevrolet, which had its last celebration in 2016; Y Honda, which aspires to return to the glory it obtained in the last century. The only structure without factory support is the FDC Motor Sports run by Javier Ciabattari. In total, the number of cars in circuit N ° 8 will be 17 units ...

Although the economic situation of the country is not the best, there are other categories that have managed to maintain their park, such as the National tourism or Road Tourism; and they have even increased it like the Tourism Track. Obviously, the realities and technical characteristics of each one are different, but they will have done something right ...
