The TCR South America takes to the track this Monday

The South American category will carry out a test at Velopark to define its tire supplier.

El TCR South America will take its first official step this Monday, January 11, at the Brazilian circuit of Velopark, in Porto Alegre, where the pilot Nono Figueiredo will perform different tests that will define the tires to be used in the 2021 championship.

TCR South AmericaWith extensive experience in international touring cars, Figueiredo will drive the Audi RS3 LMS TCR de Guilherme Reischl of the team Rio Grande do Sul MC Tubarão. It will be an intense day of testing where more than 155 laps will be given, using 24 compounds tires of three different brands.

In the tests will be present Samuel Canca, technical director of the category, who will travel from Europe especially for these tests. Members of the different tire brands will also be present, as well as sponsors and other members of TCR South America.

“We are going to spin a lot. It is a very extensive program and I am happy to participate in this activity under the supervision of Canca, an engineer who has been working on the development of several TCR competitions around the world ", said Figueiredo.

For the tire test this Monday, Figueiredo, held a briefing by videoconference with the Argentine Stephen Guerrieri, who has a lot of mileage and experience with TCR cars. Compete with a Honda Civic Type R TCR in the World Touring Cup.
