Uber vs. Taxis

Uber

On March 29, Cicmas Strategy Group conducted a survey of 400 cases through the mobile application Enquestapp to understand how the population perceives the new Uber service that arrived in Argentina. Here are the main results ...

DEGREE OF KNOWLEDGE OF UBER
-39% say they know how it works.
-43% in name only.
-18% do not know it.

OPINION ON THE ARRIVAL OF UBER TO BUENOS AIRES
-90% of those surveyed consider it as "very good" and "good".

USE OF UBER
-73% say they would use UBER.

USE OF TAXIS
-62% of those surveyed say they would stop taking taxis.

SECURITY
-One in three people do not believe that it is a safe medium.

CONTROLS
-For 87% of the sample Uber should have the same controls and demands as taxis and 67% believe that Uber workers should be unionized.

TAXIS VS UBER:
-72% of the sample do not believe that the arrival of Uber will end the taxi service
-In the dispute between taxi drivers and Uber, 62% say they are against taxi drivers.

CONCLUSIONS
It should be noted that any study of technological and innovative tools is generally well received and evaluated by the public since technology is perceived, a priori, as an added advance that in the context of this sample there are 44% of dissatisfied with the taxi service.

Also noteworthy are the high awareness of Uber in the city of Buenos Aires, the positive reception of the new service since three out of four people would use the service. A priori - and without the Uber service being in force - six out of 10 people say they would leave the taxi service. It is noteworthy that a very important part of the sample calls on Uber to submit to the same demands that taxis are subjected to both at work and vehicle level and other demands.
