After his impeccable victory in the 2021 edition of the rally Dakar Rally, the Argentinian Manuel Andujar got back on his Yamaha quad to stand out in the Rally Kazakhstan that was done on 1.400 timed kilometers divided into five stages. This race awarded points for the FIM and FIA World Cross Country.
Andujar dominated from the start in a competition in which he had only four rivals. But beyond that, the five days of action have been a great training for his defense of the crown in the Dakar race. Finally, he beat the Polish by almost half an hour Rafal sonik (Yamaha).
It was not the only Argentine victory since Lucio alvarez (Toyota) prevailed in cars after a great performance (it was in the Top 3 throughout the rally). The Mendoza benefited from the abandonment in the last stage of the French Mathieu Serradori (Century), the man to beat during the previous days. Álvarez beat the Russian by more than 28 minutes Denis Krotov (MINI).
For its part, Diego Martínez (Can-Am) finished 13th overall and fourth in the T4 category. While Sebastian Halpern (MINI) finished 21st after the problems that delayed it in the first stage. On the way it was Juan Cruz Yacopini (Toyota), who dropped out in the third stage.
On motorcycles the only two compatriots who faced this event were the Luciano Benavides (Husqvarna) and Franco Caimi (Hero). The best placed was the Salta, who finished sixth, 42 minutes behind the winner, the Botswano Ross Branch (Yamaha). The Mendoza, meanwhile, finished eighth in more than eight hours, seven of them due to penalties.
