In 2017 the World Rally Championship will release technical regulations that will allow to see more evolved WRC cars in action. The Volkswagen team, which has won titles in the last three years under the guidance of Frenchman Sébastien Ogier, is already working on the new Polo R WRC that it will use next season and showed its design as a preview.
Among its most salient aspects are the increase in width by 50 millimeters, the reduction in weight by 25 kilograms, a new minimum length of 3.900 millimeters and the generation of about 380 hp (60 hp more than today) thanks to the increase in limiting flange from 33mm to 36mm. In addition, it sports a larger rear wing and front spoiler.
Although the new technical components have already been tested in a large number of tests, the appearance of the Polo R WRC will change considerably between now and the start of the new season in Monte Carlo in January 2017.
