Hand in hand with the French Sébastien Loeb el Peugeot 208 WRX of Team Peugeot Total stood out again in the 2018 season of the World Rallycross. Following his triumph on the previous date in Belgium, Séb finished third in Silverstone (Great Britain) and thus achieved its fourth consecutive podium.
Ante 27.000 viewers, Loeb had a consistent performance. After two second places in the qualifying rounds and a victory in the semi-final, the nine-time WRC champion did not slow down for all 6 laps of the final race, despite a poor start that added further value to his third position. The competition was won by the Norwegian Johan Kristoffersson (Volkswagen Polo R) followed by his compatriot Andreas Bakkerud (Audi S1).
“The final was a real battle. I made a bad start as there was too much grip. Fortunately I took the Joker Lap at the best of times and this helped me back up a few places. It was a good strategy. In short, it was a very good final after a rather bad start ”, said Loeb, who ranks second in the contest, 14 points behind leader Kristoffersson.
Swedish Kevin hansen marked a career milestone at Silverstone by reaching the final for the first time this season. The “Junior” of the French team showed all his potential from the starting line to the finish line. He finished 6th after a fought final in which a puncture prevented him 100%.
While his brother Timmy he achieved excellent results in the previous rounds, with a victory in Q2, but after a puncture in the semi-final he was forced to withdraw just after the start.
The fifth date of the WRX will be the 10 June in the circuit of Labkebannen, located near Trondheim, on the west coast of Norway.
