YPF y Toyota presented the new competition teams for the categories of Super TC 2000, National tourism, Argentine Rally y TC Pick-Up expanding and deepening the strategic alliance between both companies.
The presentation event was held at the YPF service station in Nordelta with the presence of Leandro caruso, Chief Marketing Officer of the oil company; Y Daniel Herrero, President of Toyota Argentina and Chief Officer of Toyota GAZOO Racing for Latin America.
Competition teams will use the new INFINIA, the latest development of the company that incorporates a technology that maximizes the cleanliness of the injectors and valves, which allows to guarantee the delivery of power from the engine and ensure its durability.
Moreover, YPF LUZ is its supplier of renewable energy, an agreement that allowed Toyota to be the first company to manufacture its cars with 100% renewable energy.
Despite the difficult context caused by COVID-19, 2020 was a successful and extremely fruitful year for Toyota GAZOO Racing Argentina, obtaining the Super TC2000 and Top Race championship in the hands of Matias Rossi, in addition to the team and brand tournaments.
2021 is presented with many novelties, new challenges and categories, with the aim always to learn from the roads and skills to make better and better cars. Under the denomination Toyota GAZOO Racing YPF Infinia the team will be present in the following categories:
Super TC2000: After a short break, the team prepares to face a new year with the four drivers who closed the recent championship: Matías Rossi, Julián Santero, Brazilian Rubens Barrichello and Franco Vivian.
National tourism: Then a season interrupted by the pandemic and an excellent performance of Santero Throughout the year occupying the second position in the championship, TGRA renews expectations with the Mendoza driver once again in command of the Corolla.
Argentine Rally: After a reduced schedule of five dates during 2020 due to the pandemic, the Toyota GAZOO Racing YPF Infinia has two Yaris for 2021 for Federico Villagra and David Nalbandian.
TC Pick-Up: The great novelty of this year will be the incorporation of TGRA into the category of trucks that is run by the Asociación Carredores Turismo Carretera in, no less than with the Hilux and the drivers Mariano Werner and Andrés Jakos behind the wheel.
While I eat Toyota GAZOO Racing Argentina will race in Top Race V6 with Ian Reuteman y Diego Azar as sole pilots.
