On the weekend two Italian media, Milano Finanza y Gazzetta di Modena, published articles referring to the future of Pagani Automobili, the sports car company that founded the Santa Fe in 1992 Horacio Pagani.

The portals indicated that the brand, based in Modena, could reach Formula 1 thanks to the support of Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund (PIF), which three months ago acquired 30 percent of the company.

Horacio PaganiThe news undoubtedly caused a stir due to the prestige that Pagani has in the super sports segment. In addition, it was not too surprising due to the interest of the Saudi kingdom to enhance its strategy Vision 2030, which is betting on the diversification of the country's economy so as not to depend so much on oil.

However, the news published by the Italian portals does not correspond to reality. This was made clear by Horacio Pagani himself. "They are all stupid that are invented in order to write something. It is unfortunate…", said the designer in a brief dialogue with the magazine Windshield.

According to Milano Finanza and Gazzetta di Modena, the PIF was willing to increase its stake in Pagani with one billion euros and as part of this strong investment it had been thought to bring the brand to F.1.

Gazzetta di Modena
La Gazzetta di Modena echoed an article published by Milano Finanza.

The Saudi oil company was involved in this project Aramco and even Italian too Valentino Rossi, the motorcycling star who recently retired.

Despite this denial from Pagani himself, it is true that the Saudi sovereign wealth fund wants to work on the business development of Pagani Automobili and one of the pillars is to bet on the growth of lifestyle segment with the division Pagani Art.
