Faced with people's fear of traveling by public transport again as a result of the coronavirus, Roll Electric, a company that manufactures and markets electric vehicles, accelerated plans to launch its new line of skateboards and announced the arrival of Kiri.
With an investment of U.S. dollar 200.000, the company with premises in La Plata and Microcentro, began to market the Kiri M2, the first version offered to 105.000 pesos (in cash), with a 12-month guarantee and can be purchased at the Rodar stores in person or through the Web. The name Kiri is inspired by the tree of the same name, also known as Empress or Paulownia tormentosa, which is native to China. It stands out for being the fastest growing tree in the world, which can purify infertile soil, absorb ten times more carbon dioxide than any other species due to its large leaves and metabolic characteristics, and emit large amounts of oxygen.
“Along with each skateboard that we sell, we are going to deliver a seedling of this tree and also its seeds, so that our clients can give to their loved ones, in order to invite them not only to improve the quality and experience of their transfers, but also be part of a sustainable mobility that is here to stay ”, comment Juan Martin Savage, founder of Rodar Electric.
The new Kiri M2 model is black. Its battery is lithium 36V-7,5AH that will allow to have a autonomy between 25 and 30 kilometers. It charges like a cell phone or notebook and takes between three and four hours to fully charge. In addition, it has a 350 watt motor and a maximum speed of 30 km / h. You have the possibility to choose between three speed levels and / or use the cruise speed mode.
Its weight is 13,8 kilos. It has 8,5 tires, front and rear suspension, disc brakes and supports up to 120 kilos. All models include, free of charge, an ARW-18 anti-puncture liquid, a national industry brand that accompanies Rodar Electric in this launch.
“We want that when someone sees a Kiri skateboard they know that a tree was planted. We want to help improve air quality, not only by removing people from combustion vehicles, but also by helping to reforest the area where they live ”Savage concludes.
