Picap, the rival taxi service and Uber, has arrived

The App that is based on motorcycle taxi is now available in Argentina and is looking for drivers.

"Earn money sharing your motorcycle." With that simple phrase Picap, an App that is based on motorcycle taxation, officially began its search for drivers in Argentina. What is Picap about? It is very simple: It is an Uber, but of motorcycles.

Picap is defined from your Facebook page as "an App that offers the possibility of connection between those who require a means of transport and people with a motorcycle who want to share it and earn additional income ". It also clarifies that accepts motorcycles from 100cc onwards.

Although the Ministry of Transport of that country considers it illegal, there it has 300.000 monthly users and more than 60.00 drivers. It is also active in Peru y Mexico.

The platform started with a capital of US $ 250.000 and has just closed an investment round in which it attracted u $ s 2,5 million. The capital raise was led by the US fund Signia Venture Partners.

For now, there is no set price in Argentina since it is currently recruiting drivers to provide the service. However, in the countries it operates, it is a 30% cheaper than Uber and, of course, than taxis ...


It can be downloaded from Play Store o App Store. Then the following steps should be followed:

  1. In the left menu of the application, use the option "Become a driver"
  2. Complete the registration by submitting the requested information in four steps.
  3. Wait between 48 business hours. After this time, if you pass all the filters, you will be activated by the Picap team.
  4. Start earning money for sharing your vehicle and helping mobility. You must use the option "Switch to driver mode" to start earning money.
  5. You manage your time 100%. When you want to be active you go to driver mode, otherwise you go to passenger mode and services will stop reaching you.
