As a celebration of its centenary Mitsubishi rebuilt its first passenger car, the Model A, but on the platform of the successful Outlander PHEV, the leading plug-in hybrid vehicle in its category.
To do this, Mitsubishi partnered with West Coast Customs to recreate the 1917 Model A on the platform of a PHEV, Mitsubishi's flagship and most technologically advanced vehicle.
Staying true to the aesthetics of the Model A, the final product incorporates the original 1917 structure with modern enhancements including the Super All-Wheel Control system, Plug-In load capacities and safety measures such as the Forward Collision Mitigation System or the SDA System. The Mitsubishi Re-Model A not only commemorates the past, it celebrates the technology in today's models and sheds light on the next 100 years.
“The West Coast Customs team seamlessly combined our past, present and future in the form of the Mitsubishi Re-Model A”, said Francine Harsini, director of marketing for Mitsubishi Motors in the United States.
“It has been a challenging and exciting project and we are excited to share the final product with everyone. In addition, this unique construction gave us the opportunity to use the integration of several elements that will help us promote the new Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV, which will arrive in our market in early 2018 ”, concluded.
